Community Events
Each year Turner Recreation Commission hosts several community wide special events. Most of these events are free or have a very minimal fee. Events include: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, Kids Fit N Day, Fishing Derby, Fireworks Display, Back 2 School Bash, Turner Days, Spooktacular and Breakfast with Santa. Check back often for specific information on upcoming events.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Enjoy great food, free crafts, story time with TCL and of course a free egg hunt. Each egg will contain prizes and some eggs will contain a free program certificate! Free pictures with the Easter Bunny will be taken by Select Photo Graphics.
Breakfast is from 8:00AM - 11:00AM. $5: ages 13 & older, $4: ages 4-12, FREE: ages 3 and under (with the purchase of an adult plate).

18th ANNUAL TEE IT UP “FORE” TURNER BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT (ages 16 and older)
Our Annual Tee It Up “Fore” Turner Benefit Golf Tournament supports our financially challenged families to participate in TRC programs and assists in sponsoring college scholarships for the Turner Unified School District High School graduating seniors. Our tournament format features a four-person scramble, a “Tiger Woods Drive”, and mulligan purchasing power (up to four) to shave a few strokes off your score. The tournament awards 2 to 3 teams per flight (3 to 4 flights). Tournament team fee includes a professional team photo, hole challenges, player packages, dinner, four beverage tickets, door prizes, and the opportunity to help support our cause with the silent auction. Company and individual sponsorship packages are available.

KIDS FIT N FUN DAY
The Turner Recreation Commission will be hosting a free, fun-filled day of activity designed to support healthy kids and families. This day will celebrate how fitness can be fun, as well as introducing participants to the array of TRC programs that teach and reinforce healthy behaviors.
Activities include: face painting, huge inflatables, free gift for all kids who complete a "Splash into summer scorecard", free food with Kids Cafe, Kids health screenings, Healthy Kids Satge with Live entertainment, discounts on all TRC summer programs

O.K. Kids Day Fishing Derby (ages 0-15)
There was a time when kids took the outdoors for granted. They seemed to grow up outside. Time was spent working on the farm, fishing in ponds or wandering along creeks and rivers. Join TRC as we experience the outdoor beauty and learn a little about its natural resources and wildlife through games and activities. Activities include: fishing, water games, learn to bait and cast a rod

Date: June 2nd (register at 8:00AM at Pierson Park Lake on the day of the event)

1st place prize is awarded in the following age divisions: 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 & 13-15

Turner Recreation Commission in conjunction with the KCK Unified Government of Wyandotte County Parks and Recreation and Pro Fireworks Unlimited, Inc. present a Fireworks Display at Pierson Park. No personal fireworks are allowed in the park.
